Welcome to My Blog!

So here we go, the first entry into what should be a pretty fun blog for us all! After lots of urging from friends and family who I've annoyed with posts of all sorts on "Facebook" from my many road trips over the past several years, I've decided to open up this blog so that even more people can get a few laughs and a little fun trivial knowledge from these trips.

So, for those of you who don't know me, here's the scoop:

I worked in the field of Parks and Recreation on beautiful Long Island for close to 40 years. I 'retired' from my career field in 2010, and since then have been concentrating on operating a small consulting and training business, specializing in swimming pool operation and management, staff training, and motivational speaking. In operating this business, I get to travel, both in the USA and abroad. Since I am not a fan of air travel, I only fly when it's absolutely necessary (can't very well drive to Australia), and do most of my travel by car. When you spend as much time in your car as I do, you get to visit some pretty cool places, see some neat stuff, listen to LOTS of great old music, and eat lots of good local, non-chain restaurant food. This blog will recount lots of those trips, with lots of those places included. You can also count on hearing about, and seeing videos of some great 'oldies' artists and songs, as well as some of the classic movie and television clips that continuously play in my mind from day to day.

For the last almost five years, I've driven all over in my little PT Cruiser, a great little car that was a gas to drive on these long trips. With my long legs, and an occasionally balky back, it's one of the most comfortable cars I've ever had for long trips. But, at 13 years old, and with 198,000 miles, it's time to step up to something a little more modern. So now, I'll be roaming around in my 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus (which will soon be converted into a GSS 'Cuda; more about that in a later post).

That's about it for an introduction, I hope you'll enjoy what gets posted here, and will check back occasionally for what's new. This won't be a daily blog, but I'm hoping to do something at least once a week, so plan to put this on your weekly calendar to peruse.

Today, I'm off to Watertown NY to do a training. Not sure I'll find anything cool to report from this trip, but I'll sure keep my eyes open, and if I do, it'll show up here soon enough.

See you all 'on the road'!

Paul
